3D Club: Strings Micro Factory with Brad Combs
Print problem, 2nd layer
Got my new printer a few weeks ago, and I have been loving life in 3D. I have made a bunch of cauls and tools in preparation for my next builds. On all the prints the first layers were a little fuzzy, so I did some research and adjusted the z offset. Got my first layers in the pocket. But that caused some horrible problems. Now I can’t even finish a print. First layer is fine. Second layer is hairy and fuzzy. Seems like the nozzle is dragging and extruding too much? Or Z axis isn’t moving up enough?
Then the third layer, the nozzle is dragging through all the fuzz and it just irons the whole surface. I tried leveling the bed better, cleaning the nozzle, and raising the heat. I have done plenty of research the last days, but it’s nice to have a dialogue to bounce around ideas. So lay them on me.
My plans to try later today are to try using a new or different g code. And maybe return to factory settings. If that’s possible.
Attached is a photo of the third layer. Fuzzies gone and surfaced is melted smooth by nozzle dragging.
