Recorded Zoom programs

Is there a way to see recent zoom meeting recordings or an index of links to the unlisted YT? Thanks.

If on desktop hit the adv search button on the right hand side. Then hit shows to select the show type you want to see. The search is stackable, so if you hit "Dan and Doug" for the show and then sear…

Factory Friday start next Friday! (7/31) 🎉

Beginning Friday, August 31, I'm opening up the shop every Friday from 2:00–4:00 PM EST for an informal Zoom session. Whether you're: 🔹 Building with a Strings Micro Factory kit 🔹 Thinking about getting started 🔹 Looking for advice on a current project 🔹 Or just enjoy talking guitar building... You're welcome to drop in. No presentation. No agenda. Just open shop. Bring your questions, share what you're working on, or simply stop by and say…

Thatsa nice! Did you simply tell Claude to “make it so”? (I’ve used it three or four times in the last five minutes - it was THAT useful!) And ——— wait for it … you can add the search term into the sear…

Inside this content window or "container" is the green radio button "SUGGESTION BOX" supposed to be a clickable link? I've seen some of them are and most of them are not. IMPLICATION: Cannot see a…

Looking for Looth Feedback

Hey Everyone! I have been messing around with a program that Ian introduced me to called "FarPlay". It is similar to zoom but designed for playing music together. In prototyping it I have made some discoveries, particularly that you need a really solid internet connection. Wifi seems doable but causes the most problems. If enough people were interested I am imagining two different ways it could be fun for us. The first would be…

Go Acoustic Audio Joins The Looth Group: Acoustic Amplification Redefined

Hi everyone, We’re really excited to be joining The Looth Group as new sponsors, and we wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves. I’m Ben, and together with Paul McGill we run Go Acoustic Audio. Paul is in his 50th year of guitar making — a milestone that speaks to both his craftsmanship and his persistence in chasing better sound. He’s spent a lifetime building instruments for players at every level, listening closely to what works…

Total vise work station

Hey everyone! I bought a proper work station and after some moving around have it in a good spot in my shop. It’s proving to be a huge upgrade now that I am getting used to it. I know people have been getting creative with modifying and adding new features to it. If anyone wants to share their ideas I am looking for inspiration! Thanks!!!

Tricorner shirt

Any chance of getting the Tricorner T shirt in 100% cotton? I dearly love the shirt but am afraid of having it melt to my body in an elevator fire.......🔥

Proper Workstation Gridfinity Tray

I took a basic Gridfinity tray and added a bar to the bottom to work with a cheap camera clamping from Amazon. The clamp fits on the main bar of the workstation, allowing an adjustable tool/parts tray to be mounted on the side of the workstation.

This is a simple riser to fit between tuning machines on a headstock. I made two versions. One with a magnetic base and one that just clips on to the workstation.

Quick question - Erlewine neck jig and Proper workstation

Just starting to research these items, so forgive the noob question/s… Can these two items be combined? I.e. could one fasten the Erlewine neck jig to the Proper workstation? Or are they two completely different items? Does the Proper workstation allow you to do fretwork under string tension, or is that only on the Erlewine jig? Or could you possibly buy both items, then switch them out on the same mounted post? My primary issue I’d like…

I do have not the real “Erlewine Neck jig” but a wooden one I cheaply made after the Dan’s ones on the Stewmac books and videos. Quite basic, it was meant to be a first trial to test everything… but i…

The site goes down for me a lot.

I'm in Ireland, so perhaps this is a local phenomenon, but I find that the site is only accessible to me for a limited number of page views before it becomes unresponsive. Yesterday when it went down I got a Wordpress error: "Error establishing a Redis connection." Based on that, it looks like it's a config error with Wordpress, but I don't even know if anybody else is getting this behavior.

Which Total Vise products to go with?

I am a relatively new ”looth”…an amateur/hobbyist at this point, but have recently retired and plan to do much more in retirement. One thing that I am needing at this point is to equip my shop with some better vises and other work-holding equipment. So far I have just used a parrot vise, which has been okay (but not great) for the work I have done so far. I was about to invest in StewMac’s classic Guitar Repair Vise, but one thing I’m r…

For Sale or Trade Section?

It would be good to have a section where we looths (wannabe in my case) can buy, sell, or trade materials, equipment, tools, etc. with one another. Obviously, there would need to be rules and policies, but I think we’re all some stand-up people so could be a good thing.

Yes, please, with a small portion of the sales going to support the site, similar to MandoCafe and TalkBass.
