The Neverending Fret Buzz

Hi everyone, Every once in a while, I come across a bass that simply refuses to stop buzzing. Right now, I’m working on a bass (I won't name the brand, but it’s in the €2,500 range) that has a slight fretboard hump near the neck pocket. I figured that was the culprit, so I performed a fret level under string tension. The frets are now perfectly level... yet, it continues to buzz across the entire fretboard, even with fairly high a…

After further testing on a bass with the same issue, I discovered that in some basses, the neck has a specific resonant frequency. This causes the neck to vibrate, making the string move erratically.…

I did contact Ron at Nashville Plating Service. He was very straight forward and easy to talk to and we agreed to do a test run of some archtop hardware. Thank you for the contact.

Pouring From Hardware Chemical Cans Solution

Looking for a solution to efficiently pour from the metal hardware style gallon sized chemical cans into smaller squeeze bottles. I always make a mess and make waste . I have searched for an after market screw on spout to no avail.

Mystery Buzz

Hi Everyone,I hope you’re having a great weekend! Can anyone help diagnose my mystery B string buzz? I tried to attach a video but the site won't take it. I’ve tightened all hardware and the b string is not hitting any frets. I’m giving it a set-up and when I had to lower the nut slot height of the B string it improved a bit. When I capo at the first fret the buzz disappears so it seems to be something going on at the nut. …

Wiring Overhaul - Music Man Reflex Game Changer

Would you have any recommendations on wiring configurations and piezo controllers to replace the electronics in my Music Man Reflex, which used to have the Game Changer system? The guitar has an HSH pickup configuration with a piezo bridge pickup. It has three existing holes for Volume/Tone/Blend, a blade switch slot, and a 3-way switch hole. When I bought this guitar about a decade ago, the Game Changer system offered a mind-numbingly a…

You might even consider the Free-Way switch such as on StewMac. 5-way/10-position switch, lots of wiring options there.

Plastic polish on french polish finish

I have been working through Robbie O'Brien's french polish course and he recommends using a plastic polish. The product he used wasn't available at my hardware store so I purchased this product https://www.meguiars.ca/3M/en_CA/p/d/v000190445/ and just want to make sure that this will not damage my finish. I'd appreciate some feedback for a rookie finisher.

That's probably pretty good. Meguire's #9 would probably also work. For those looking for these products, Harbor Freight, at least in my hood, has a nearly complete set of the polishing products. #7 i…
