I need a couple long-shaft 250K audio taper pots for a single vol/tone guitar. Technically I need long(er) shaft; has to be 3/8" on top of the friction washer. I've got 500K pots in stock, actual long-shaft. I could use a 500K resister in parallel, but I've heard it will alter the taper. Can anyone tell me how the taper will be altered? Not sure what to expect.

I just had something happen that I can't understand, and I am looking for theories. I was working on an '80s Kramer. I've done a number of traditional acoustic neck re-sets but I have never been in a scenario to do a re-set on a Gibson electric, and in this case, a 67 Gibson EB2 until now. Have you ever had a really stubborn bridge plate to remove? I had one not too long ago that seemed to resist wetting with a damp cloth, and subsequently all the heat I could get from my silicone heating pads. After much effort I got about 80% of it out cleanly. The remaining 20% required hours of work with a finger plane. Today's atrocity is this 1975 '72 Telecaster Custom with a formerly "repaired" gash in the neck at the 11th fret. The customer says she bought it that way in the early '80s and does not know the former service history. I doubt that she is responsible for all that play wear. This is my second iteration of a gramil that can be used to fully cut the channels for binding and purfling as opposed to using an electric router. I am working on my first acoustic now but initial tests look promising. Features round beam so you can lightly scratch at first like a marking gauge. Depth control of the exacto hobby #11 blade. This guitar will have a piano black finish on most of it and translucent black over the red fabric areas. The client also wants the white binding to be aged. I will be sealing and grain filling with a polyester sealer. My thinking is to tint the first coal of sealer to age the binding , then seal over it with clear. Then tape off binding while spraying color coats. Anyone got an easier way? Suggestions?

I have a Carvin 12-String "acoustic" electric with what I think is a poly finish. Over time, the back side has gotten a bit cloudy where the body makes contact with the player. Doing my initial research, it seemed like buffing compound would have done the trick to bring back the shine.
