Hey everyone, look at this. I built a system to measure the pickups but not only the resistance, it also measures the peak of resonance of the frequencies and the volume that you get in those frequencies. I made it with a bobin, a pickup and some testers. It is really cool because you get more specific results as how the pickup will sound and it’s performance.

I realize this is a long shot, a local musician has a 1970 Fender Jazz Bass he bought as original. He recently found out the pickups had been replaced. Other than Reverb, does anyone k ow of a set or where else these may be found? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Owner wants to try to at least be period correct and as close to original as he can.

So I think this pickup was wired wrong but wanted to see if anyone was familiar with people maybe doing this kind of thing intentionally. Hi gents, Do any of you have a favorite dulcimer pickup? The Folkcraft NT11 sounds really nice from the demo, but they're not available. I'm having trouble recommending a pickup to my customer, I'm not sure to go with a transducer, mic, or piezo in this situation. I'd like to go less invasive if possible, but cutting holes is not out of the question.

Anybody have experience with these 70's Guild pickups? Been fighting to remove it, but haven't had any luck after an hour or so. The strap button acts like a jacket for the input jack, and there's not enough of a fixture to grab ahold of from the inside. All I can achieve is a spin. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I recently did a rebuild on a Strat where I went with 2 pickups and a 3 way switch. Goal mess to have an independent volume for each pickup and a master tone. I also added a coil split for the bridge. I went pickups direct to volume pots, pots to the blade switch, and out of the switch to the tone, then to the jack. I have a project on the bench where the player wants the option of sending the sound of each of his two pickups to separate amplifiers, or not, depending on the cycle of the moon. I've got a bit of a head-scratcher here. Gibson 498T bridge pickup with low output and thin sound. It ohms out to spec (14K), each coil individually measures fine but in situ it is very weak compared to the much lower output 490R in the neck. I even tried wiring it to it's own pot and jack outside of the circuit and it's still super weak compared to the neck. Any thoughts?

I've got this Telecaster pickup (1969). The pickup works. Is it possible to flatten the top without gluing it down to the windings? Clamping lightly with a caul slotted for the magnets seats it nicely but I'm not sure how to make it stay there. Any experience with this? Suggestions?

One of the customer complaints on the Gibson Advanced Jumbo is an unbalanced pickup sound. The saddle that was on it was nowhere near flat and now that I’ve made the new one, it seems marginally better but, the D&G strings are louder and the low E seems a little anemic.
