Les Paul (Knock Off) Wiring - Volume Pot Issue
Hi Everyone, I've got this knock off Les Paul in the shop right now and the wiring is a rats nest as you can see in the picture. Does anyone know which of the pictures from the guitar wiring bible what would apply to this guitar? The volume pot is an issue that I may just try to clean but if I do decide to tackle all of the wiring I’m curious to know which diagram I should be working with. Thanks in advance! Images …
Where Does the Sound of a Guitar Come From?
1920's National 4 string tenor resonator guitar/banjo
A friend of mine inherited his great-grandfather's National tenor resonator guitar/banjo (I'm not sure which it is). He would like to have it in playing condition. He asked me for a recommendation as to where he could get that done. Fellow Looths, please give me recommendations. It appears to be in pretty good shape. He will ship it where ever it needs to go. There are photos below. Chris Jenkins Images

Wood-Body Resonator Guitar Construction – Materials & Suppliers?
Hi Everyone, I believe this may be my first post here, so just a quick introduction — I’m Andrew in Milwaukee, WI. I’ve been building a few years. My luthier eyes were opened first by Charles Fox in Portland which led me to the Gallop School. I recently retired from a tech career and I am now based in Milwaukee, WI focusing on acoustic builds. I’m currently exploring wood-body resonator guitars, and I’d love to learn more from t…

Acoustic Guitar Neck Repair
Hi Everyone, I was given this guitar to harvest parts from and then throw into a fire due to a partial break in the neck. When I pull the neck to close the break the action is perfect so I'd like to fix it and then donate it. Can anyone show me what clamps to use to keep it closed after I glue it? Also, would you recommend strait wood glue or would you water it down somewhat to allow it to seep in further? Thanks in advance!

Bridge Conversion - Left to Right
Happy Friday Everyone! I have a friend that bought a worn out looking used guitar recently and has asked me to change it from a lefty to a righty. As you can see from the one photo there is a bulge in the soundboard that they won’t want to invest to fix correctly before having the new right handed bridge installed. He could buy a new or better used guitar but loves the worn out look of this one. Does anyone have a recommended process for b…

Mystery Buzz
Hi Everyone,I hope you’re having a great weekend! Can anyone help diagnose my mystery B string buzz? I tried to attach a video but the site won't take it. I’ve tightened all hardware and the b string is not hitting any frets. I’m giving it a set-up and when I had to lower the nut slot height of the B string it improved a bit. When I capo at the first fret the buzz disappears so it seems to be something going on at the nut. …
Brand new Gibson Hummingbird with Wolf tones
A customer brought me a new Hummingbird with fret buzz a few weeks ago. After performing what may be the best levelling job I've ever done, the buzz was reduced, but still noticeable, though it sounded different than normal fret buzz. When I noticed that the sound was worst when playing F2 (on the A string or D string), I did a frequency analysis and discovered that the main top resonance was at 163.9 hz, and it all made sense. Those…
Detached Wiring - Wire Hanger Enhancement
Hi Everyone, I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I have some wiring that has come loose in an acoustic guitar as the adhesive attached to the wire hangers has failed after about 1.5-2 years. Normally I would just pop in new ones but I'm wondering if there is a stronger adhesive that can be added instead of just relying on the sticky tape that comes with what is in the included pictures. Thanks in advance!
