Thought fellow looths might enjoy this geekery. I've often wished for custom size heating blankets, but didn't even try uploading the file to get a quote from some of the major manufacturers. I was looking to spend countless hours of my life on something and save a hundred bucks. So I did some research, a little bit of head scratching, a slight bit of math reckoning, and made this '70s Martin bridge plate remover. Pretty slick, nice…
Hey all - I've got a couple Gibson headstock repair investments that I'd like to practice inserting splines for reinforcement (or I may go the backstrap method..tbd).
Do you have any jig recommendations or preferences? I've only seen the G&W option (which looks awesome), several ebay knock-offs and lots of DIY jigs.

If so, drop a comment here and I'll see if I can address it or post any relevant photos\content. I'm leaving Wednesday for a month in Europe fol…
Hi Peter, I got into touring by meeting musicians through repair work. I started out in a cool little used and vintage shop in Portland called Old Town Music. I started doing a lot of repairs for Mode…
So, I have a chinese or DIY like 2 band bass preamp installed on a one pickup Ibanez bass. However, I'm stuck in the process of getting it connected. Basically the preamp has these connection cables: Red - 9v Black - Ground White - preamp out Blue - preamp in Yellow - Treble (?) Orange - Bass (?) The circuit has 1 pickup,1 vol, 1 concentric (bass/treble). I'm stuck connecting the concentric pot. Could you help me with that, please?

Thank you so much, Gerry! Your help was very important. Long story short, it worked based on the G&L circuit with a little mod. I appreciate your help.
