Pickup routing template for les paul?

Does anyone have a STL for a routing template that will sit square on a les paul body? I need to cut a P90 hole into a middle position, and it would be nice to use the router, rather than chiseling the edges...

Advice on routing for a staple P90?

Hi all, I'm looking for any advice on a guitar of mine I've been working on. I plan on replacing the neck pickup with Staple P90. I'll be putting this into my telecaster, which means I'm going to need to route the neck pickup cavity for it. As you can see though, the route seems like it would need a deep middle portion, and then a shelf for the pickup to sit on and screw into. Looking at where it will sit on the body currently though, I…

Hi Bryan, I would suggest using a routing template for a standard P90 for the shallower route with a template bit. (Stewmac sells these) You could then use another, smaller template for the deeper cut…

Wiring help with unorthodox tele setup

Hey all, I could use some help with wiring up my telecaster. I'm fully aware this might be weird, but I thought it'd be a fun side project. So to get to it, first is the pickups. I plan on having a Staple P90 in the neck, a bill paisley secret agent pickup in the middle, and a normal tele pickup in the bridge. I'd like to have it wired mostly normal on a 3 way switch, where it's Neck, Neck + Bridge, Bridge. I'd also like the Neck P90 to…

Hey Bryan This is a little unusual but I think it should be possible. The bridge and neck are wired to the 3-way as usual. There's a fixed 470K resistor between the bridge and ground. Using a 500K pot…

pickup wiring?

I've built some acoustic guitars and I want to get into some electric builds. On that note, I have a highly regarded player around here asking if I could wire an existing solid body to his liking. He is providing two 500K pots, two P90 pickups and a 3 position switch. He wants two volume controls, no tone control. He's quite an accomplished player and I don't know enough to question him. I got a Seymour Duncan diagram from their si…

Schatten Automatic Winder Traverse

Has anyone used this? I bought one and my first P90 wind wasn't worth a sh#t! Uneven winds and the coil was way too loose. I have no trouble winding while feeding by hand except that it drives me crazy staring at the winder.

I have it with use for my (I think) Model B Schatten winder and I've had no issues after setting it up. I find it a little annoying having to set it each time for usage but the tension was fine from…
