The original top was birch, plain sawn at 0.100 inches thick, ladder braced with multiple beefy braces and irreparably split, warped and generally separated from the sides. I recently installed a new "Billet T-Bridge" on a Mule tricone resonator guitar. The neck center line on this instrument is pointing 9/32" toward the treble side of the end pin. This means the saddle has to be as far to the treble side as possible so that the strings line up on the neck. So I've ended up with a 1961 Harmony H54 for free. The neck has about .022" of relief without strings on it. The fretboard was taken off long ago. I got it like that, it was just stuck on with double sided tape. I have no clue why it was taken off other than maybe someone wanted to fix the excessive relief and changed their mind.
