Hey lads I'm in a bit of an indecisive spot with a 70's yamaha acoustic refret. Pulled the original frets and the tang is .018" with no barbs just divots pressed into the lower edge. Yes, a dremel is not ideal. Ideally you want an air tool with tighter tolerances. Do you have any pawn shops or junk around your shop? Practice on something, you will get a feel for it.

Hi, I have been sent a couple pics from a customer and they want to know what guitar they have. No branding and not something I recognise. It looks old though, tortoiseshell binding. Kapton polyamide Heat resistant tape. Combined with heat resistant soldering matts, can help as a heat sink to protect finishes from getting scored. The tape is to line the matt with, not to stick onto guitar finish as it’s high tack. I acquired this old single cut JR around 6 years ago. Was aware of the previous breaks and repairs, wasn't a particular concern as I acquired through trade.
