Hey everyone, I have a Vaccaro bass guitar and I'm getting a lot of open note buzz on it. In truth, the bass could stand a refret but that may or may not be in the cards. Additionally, the truss rod nut is stripped. I'm also wondering if this nut is designed to come out? I imagine it is but it's kind of funky. A 1/4" Allen wrench is still too small to grip it. In the process of evaluating the repairs needed on this guitar I checked to see if the truss rod was working. There is hole in the transverse brace where you would normally insert a truss rod, but all I see is the end of a metal bar with a smallish hole in the center. I tried several allen wrenches that would fit in the hole, but nothing seems to grab. Did they really eliminate the adjustable truss rod on this vintage reproduction? Here'…

I have an epiphone 335 style guitar on the bench right now. Bad fret buzz on the first frets. No relief in the neck. Pretty Clear its a trussrod adjustment and out the door it goes. But the truss rod is stripped out pretty bad. My 4mm allen fits, in but it has a lot of wiggle. My 5/32" allen doesnt slide in all the way. I dont have a full set of torx wrenches. I just opened a repair shop and the first repair was to remove a broken 1/8" hex wrench ball end from the truss rod nut of a Turner RB4 Renaissance Bass. I read of all sorts of theories on how to extract/remove. None of them had recorded actual attempts of the theories. There's probably others on here but I haven't found them. I was trying to adjust the truss rod of a Martin DCX1E. I tried wiggling and jiggling that hex wrench for a long, long time to find the nut. Finally I got a small flashlight and mirror and was able to see that something is stuck in there, probably a bit from the end of a multi-screwdriver. I've attached a blurry picture. Anybody have any ideas as to how I can get that out (without taking the neck off)?

Breedlove Roots D/SRH (basically an HD28V) on the bench with a non functional trussrod. Wrench will engage, but the nut just spins and no change in relief in either direction. Pretty sure the nut is stripped at the rod end, but due to the neck block design, there's no way to access it without pulling the neck. Anybody ever replace a trussrod in one of these? I'm working on a Japanese Strat with a Kahler tremolo I've never seen before. I'm trying to find where the adjustment point for the saddle intonation is. The back side has openings for each string for... something. It's not an allen wrench, and it's not a screwdriver of any kind. The threads are 6/32" and when I tighten a screw into the holes, nothing happens. I haven't been able to find anything on google about this particular bridge.…
