COE follow up - AI catheter for accurately gluing braces
I’ve had success placing Titebond under top braces using an artificial insemination catheter (not the AI you thought!) The catheter is PVC, 11 inches long, has a standard Luer hub for syringes and is thermoplastic so it’s shapeable. 1. To reshape, place a 14 gauge copper wire in the lumen, bend to the desired shape plus a little, place just the bending section to the tip in boiling water for 20 seconds, quench in cold water and pull out the wire. This can be repeated endlessly, so you can work your way down the shaft for compound curves.
2. An 18 gauge needle can be forced on the tip for more accurate delivery.
3. The tip can be flattened as in #1, and sanded further for a slim flat tip.
4. Using a gentle flame you can draw the tip to an extremely fine point for CA glue if needed.
