The Hub

Hey everyone. This is a first time post for me, but I wanted to say thank you for everything. I’ve been tinkering here and there for the past few years under the eye of a former Martin employee, but this group has really given me more courage.

In a high school math teacher by day. I teach mostly Geometry and Algebra.

One of my students stayed after for help the other day and had his guitar for guitar class. I asked if I could see it and it was wildly difficult to play. I brought in my tools and set it up today. Truss rod was totally disengaged and the action was at 9/64. I got the relief set and took some material from the saddle and got it down to a great action. This kid was amazed. Even took him down to the wood shop and used the school’s belt sander on the saddle.

Anyway, as a teacher I have been so thankful for all you have taught me, and I thought it was about time I said thanks to you, as this student of mine thanked me. He said “I can play an F chord now. I thought it was me this whole time.”
