This is just a rant against the Stew-mac touchup pens. Ive just never had them functionally work, without creating more of an issue than there was in the first place.

Through an "act of god" I chipped a small bit of freshly buffed and polished laquer off the headstock of a Taylor that I refinished. The guitar had that nasty bubbling around the tuners and CA glue didn't fix the issue, so I stripped the front of the headstock and airbrushed Nitro. I used a Clear Nitro touchup pen on the small flaw, and it never dried. Even after a 24 hour period, it was still gummy and tacky and wouldn't sand. I ended up just getting the airbrush out and respraying, which is fine, ill get a good result, however, now I have to wait another week to buff out the new coats of laquer.

The colored pens are ok as a start point for color, but the clears never build up without major mounds around the actual flaw, which just makes the flaw bigger..... anyway, have a great Loothin day!!!
