We at F Bass Inc have been crafting boutique basses out of Hamilton, ON since 1978 and we’re looking for a Master Builder to join our small but mighty team.

Applicants must have a sharp eye, strong organizational skills and the ability to problem solve in creative ways. Someone who genuinely loves crafting custom instruments and appreciates the little details even more so. If you pride yourself on precision and creativity and get a kick from perfect glue lines and grain matching wooden covers, then you’ll feel right at home here.

Main Roles

Crafting custom instruments including;

• Lumber processing
• Multi-laminate and exotic top glue up
• Body routing, shaping and carving
• Neck carving and fretting
• Rough and fine sanding

Future growth opportunities may include:

• Product design
• Research and development
• Production management

Requirements

• Must have 5+ years of lutherie and/or fine woodworking experience
• Ability to operate shop machinery including bandsaw, disc sander, hand router, jointer, pin router and thickness planer
• Experience with orbital sanders, balloon sanders, rasps and drawknives
• Ability to maintain and troubleshoot machinery & hand tools
• Keen attention to detail and the ability to problem solve on the fly
• Must thrive in a team environment
• AutoCAD design (Fusion 360) and CNC operation is an asset, but not mandatory
• Certification in woodworking or lutherie is also an asset, but not mandatory
