Flying with acoustic guitars
I’m nearing completion on restoring a 1920’s wood-body resonator for a friend who is a plane flight away. I’ll be flying to visit them next month, and am considering flying with the guitar, rather than shipping with UPS/Fedex.
I’m a little nervous about this, because I don’t have a flight case, and it possibly won’t survive the baggage handlers if they try to force me to check it. However, I’ve seen people with acoustic guitars the last few times I’ve flown. What tactics are people using to fly with their guitars these days? Is it safe to expect to carry it on into the cabin?
