Grain filling with epoxy and compatibility
I’m about to finish my next guitar and had in mind to use up what’s left of my crystalac brite tone water based finish. I cannot use lacquer any more, my past life has caught up to me. I was all ready to grain fill with epoxy when I caught myself thinking, are they compatible? I cannot find anything on the internet. Perhaps someone here has some experience? I have also sent the question to crystalac.
The next thing I am experimenting with is boiled linseed oil and pumice as a grain filler. Has anyone tried this with a water based finish? I know I can put a coat of shellac on it to be safe.
I am testing small pieces, but long term experience is what I’m really after.
