Headstock Breaks - When is enough, enough?
So a customer came in and wanted to know if I could fix this headstock. He said that he doesn't care how the repair looks and that the guitar has sentimental value to him and he'd like it repaired if possible. Apparently he took it to another shop in town and they refused the job. The headstock has been broken three separate times, once from before he got it, and then another which he tried to repair himself (I know...), and now this is the third time. The pictures show the pieces fitting as best as I could get them, which is to say very poorly. There is some wood on wood contact and I'm debating whether or not to clean it up and epoxy the pieces back together, or just refuse the work. Any thoughts on this? I do think it could be saved, but there's no guarantee. Thanks!
