Repair options for broken truss rod on Rickenbacker 4003 bass?
Customer stated he snapped the end off the truss rod trying to adjust. Action was too high. I have not seen the bass yet. As I remember (haven't worked on one in decades) it has 2 rods inserted through the body end of the neck. There is a nut at that end. I don't think re tapping the threads is an option as it would shorten the rod too much? Anyone ever performed this repair or have any ideas? Thanks
