Acoustic Builds Electric Builds Builder gibson Kay shop tour

Join Dan Erlewine in conversation with Roger Fritz. Roger built his first guitar at 13, out of ¼” plywood with a three-crayon burst – but that was just the beginning. In Nashville he partnered with the legendary Roy Buchanan to build the Fritz Brother's Roy Buchanan Bluesmaster, which was bought and played by George Harrison. As an employee of Gibson, he rebuilt a handful of Gibson’s repair departments, beginning with the warranty and repair department. His custom guitars, built with hand-milled wood, patented stainless steel hardware, and wound pickups, are owned by some of the world’s most famous guitar players. Now, in Fairhope, Alabama, Roger produces Fritz Brothers and USA-made Kay reissues, each backed by a lifetime warranty. Come hear of a life of mastery, and passion distilled in each instrument.
