I bought the Total Vise version and it didn't work as well. 2. Rockler Bench Cookies as rear cross member supports. They have the correct 5/16-18 inserts in them and screw on easily. I just updated Fusion 360 and there are some significant changes in workflows. I kept looking for New Component and couldn’t find it anywhere. Frustrating! It is still available in the Hybrid workflow. The new workflow is split into individual Parts and Assembly’s made of those Parts. This YouTube video explains the changes very well.

I've seen the Elevate Luthierie jig, and it seems simple enough. One thing I don't like about their explanation video is the handwaving around "set the joint length where you want it"...feels like even with the jig, you have to do too much measuring to make it fit exactly (or within the tolerance you want) Given I can model well enough in Fusion and have a 3D printer, feels like a challenge to take on! tl;dw - switch to Outer Walls first, then inner walls. In orca/bambu studio, the video says to do inner/outer/inner. It also mentions the travel distance threshold in Retraction settings - setting it to 1 or 2mm; I didn't quite understand what that accomplishes.

I have access to a nova thunderlaser 5-something and I saw a video of somebody cutting out a fret board as well as the fret slots, as well as an entire neck out of a blank with a laser cutter, and I’m wondering if this is a reasonable thing to do and if anybody has experience with the kind of shrinkage that would probably happen with such a deep cut in the neck blank. Any insight at all is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
