I get them from Mouser Electronics but you can also get them from WD Music Products https://www.wdmusic.com/alpha-thumbwheel-potentiometer-250-kohm-500-kohm-details.html#menu

Fender Jaguar Kurt Cobain edition Weight reduction

I’ve got a client requesting a weight reduction on his Kurt Cobain Jaguar My approach would be in 3 steps see how much I can route down the existing cavities (might not be a lot of weight loss) route under the pickguard without compromising the instruments integrity if additional weight loss is required, drill into the body with airline drill bits to gain a few more grams current total weight all including 4.2kg Any advice is welcomed 🙏🙏🙏

Sounds good. If it works for you we can meet up in a Loothalong breakout room and work through it together. This might be a fun demo to do in the 3d club think tank if all works as intended. Jamie

Finishing over Signatures

I was approached by a local music venue about finishing over the signatures on this Dean guitar. I have finished over signatures before, but never an entire guitar. Why do you think they faded? Sunlight, chemical issue, abrasion?

I got tired of managing spreadsheets and decided that it could be simpler and more automated. The core idea is simple: one place to track every build…

I've got some great feedback on this app so far. Anyone else using something similar or different? What is working for your shop?

Finish Damage from Proper's Workstation

Hey everyone, I just had a Tele clone built by a small builder in my Proper's Guitar Workstation for a new nut and a fret level. It was clamped down in the workstation for less than a day. I just noticed that the rear hold down clamp left its footprint in the finish. No, I don't know what type of finish the builder used, but I'm trying to find out. I'm thinking its not nitro or poly because I use my TVPGW everyday and this has never hap…

Thanks Doug. I probably should have worded things differently. My goal wasn't to appear to throw shade unnecessarily at the workstation or question its efficacy. I was wondering if the urethane could…
