Tacform Update

I’ve been speed modelling parts with the printer running 24/7 since inception. There are currently somewhere around 75-100 individual pieces modelled in my source file. Mostly only building on what I’m considering the X axis, but it’s Freeform so I’ve used them to build out Y.. anyways… Connectors, Extenders, Couplers, Links, Sleeves, Feets, Plugs, Panels, Hooks… and on and on. In a moments time, I will have a mass drop folder of Standar…

Measured drawing and assembly for Proper Variable Radius Sanding Jig

Doug Proper designed a sanding jig that supports variable concave and convex curves, described in the following Loothgroup article: https://loothgroup.com/post-imgcap/the-variable-radius-sander/ I built one and am impressed with how it facilitates preparing bridges, braces and also allows tracing any radius using the chord formula. I made a rough measured drawing and assembly guide to share, with Doug's blessing. First step, ma…

Solder Fume Extractor Suggestions

Hi There, What is everyone using for solder fume extractors such as the ones in the links below. I’m interested in one that has a hose that I can connect to my Solder Monster from Stewmac. Thanks in advance! https://www.amazon.ca/Extractor-KUAIQU-Filtration-Adjustment-Soldering/dp/B0GMDV64N4/ref=sr_1_7?crid=8AI4JPLS2W0R&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Vcf_eo3BIJ1dUWCRgpIXHdUnBZiCbmerplijZ6mMWa1x5iMsWwU3SV_IwWI2yTpowxyH0YdiCWbGP4mgsaohXIe2XaDw…

Acrylic Centering Guide For Obrien Neck Jig?

Does anyone have a laser cutter/engraver file for the Acrylic centerline guide for the O'Brien Neck Jig? I can't find any replacement parts and was hoping to simply make my own. Its the most susceptible piece on the jig and my students can be rough on those.

3D Printing Help

Hey Everyone! I have finally gotten jealous enough of everyones 3d printing antics and want to get in on it. Does anyone have a suggestion for starter setup. I have saved around $500. Should I hold off and save more? I do not have any big goals but would like to copy some of the looth prints. Thanks!

Just bought a p2s. It seems like the go to machine at its price point. There are also plenty of used p1s for sale on Facebook marketplace.

I traced mine but I'd like to check mine with a more "official" drawing if one has one before giving it to you. Wouldn't want to lead you astray.

Sub $400 3d printer

I had a Flashforge Adventurer 5m pro and liked it but it suddenly stopped connecting to WiFi. Customer support was super frustrating and I returned it. But i did like it when it worked, aside from wishing it had a larger print bed. Any recommendations on what I should look at in the <$400 range? I’ve been reading and googling but have yet to find any advice that seems to hit the spot. Thank you!

Fast & Curious 3: Parametric Drift

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DWAuW40jAR_/?igsh=MW1jNDdoYzllMGFmMA== I’ve spent a few overly caffeinated days bouncing between modelling environments, different combinations of operations, tools.. subtle differences in how the coffee is brewed. In short… • Building Iso Curves in Sketch. Defining the surface structure and flow • NURBS Surfacing from curves, smooth intentional surface topology. • BRep Face to T-Spline in Form Environment. 2 Surface 2 Transition

Back at tinkering with the new Isoparametric Curve tool in Fusion. Scroll down to PICTURES LETS GO! If you want to skip this little walk through Autodesk Fusion memory lane, clearing up some of the UI conFusion. Why something so seemingly basic, is just being added today. 2009- Autodesk Inventor, hybrid modelling experiment, parametric and direct CAD in one hybrid system. 2011- Autodesk acquires T Splines Inc. an organic modeller still in…

Fusion Surface Transition Update

I had a feeling I should have updated Fusion before 3D Club... Todays New update introduced Project Isoparametric Curves "Isoparametric curves in the Sketch environment, adding new ways to extract surface U and V curves for more controlled lofts, rails, and surface transitions" ...The meridians on the shaft surface seen in the attached photo. I still haven't fully grasped how to align these between faces, attached is a quick…

Printed Vacuum Puck

Found this, will print later, saves a little design time. https://makerworld.com/models/1835300?appSharePlatform=copy Having made 3D printed Vacuum fixtures for CNC previously, I’d recommend printing as close to 100% theoretical density as possible, as any voids can and likely will lead to suction loss. Finer dimensional stability and layer adhesion with something with Glass Fibres will probably help. I’d avoid materials with additives th…

Lessons Learned from building out a workspace

Hi all. I'm in the process of working with a landlord to customize a space for my growing repair and building business. The space is approximately 800 square feet and broken into a major space (around 400 square feet), and 2nd large space (around 300 square feet) that I'm thinking of as a machine/sawdust room, and 2 smaller areas that I'm considering as a spray booth and a wood/guitar storage closet. I'd love to hear about lessons learn…

New Fusion 360 Workflows!

I just updated Fusion 360 and there are some significant changes in workflows. I kept looking for New Component and couldn’t find it anywhere. Frustrating! It is still available in the Hybrid workflow. The new workflow is split into individual Parts and Assembly’s made of those Parts. This YouTube video explains the changes very well.
