I have a "fender", which I believe is a knock off, in my shop. I didn't immediately catch that it was a fake, but as I worked on it it's become fairly undeniable, in my opinion. I am restoring an old Supertone with a thickened and heavily alligatored finish. The finish softens quickly with acetone, and it looks like it has had an overspray. I would like to keep the staining on the oak back and sides, and to preserve the decal on the headstock. The top I would like to strip and sand. The questions are: 1. Hi -- I built my first two guitars and finished them with Minwax wipe-on poly. I came to order Rothko & Frost waterslide decals and noticed their website says they won't work on wipe-on poly (or maybe any poly). Anyone have advice on how to add a decal to the headstock in this situation? FYI, the builds are over two years old so the poly is pretty well set. Thanks!

OK I know I just posted here, but I just had a tremendous customer service experience and had to share. I contacted Guitar-Restore.net about this, they had a similar graphic to what I needed for my Harmony, but it was on vinyl instead of a waterslide decal. Any recommendations for custom decal suppliers? I thought I had seen a discussion here at some point about this, but I can’t seem to find it if it actually does exist. I used to have a guy I ordered decals from but I haven’t been able to get up with him even though his website is still open. I was thinking some of the collective brain trust here may be able to help me out with this.

I acquired this old single cut JR around 6 years ago. Was aware of the previous breaks and repairs, wasn't a particular concern as I acquired through trade. The headstock broke a couple years ago with a very small sideways tumble ( in its case). I used some clamps and rubber tubing to glue the break back together.
