Martin D-35 with cracks everywhere!

Hello looths! Long time lurker, first time poster here all the way from New Zealand. I have recently acquired this 2008 Martin D-35 for a very cheap price ($1000 NZD - around 600 US!) it's dried out in a very cold environment and has two substantial cracks running all the way across the top, one large side crack, and a previous side crack repair that's been done quite poorly. I'm only about 3 years in to this repair journey and this is d…

I thought I might add an outlier of an opinion here. I understand the temptation to close the cracks with higher humidity, but you're asking a lot of adhesives, reinforcements and human attention span…

Guidance on Bridge Re-glue

I recently picked up an inexpensive acoustic with a belly bulge and lifting bridge for some repair practice. I got the bridge off and used the TJ Thompson belly reducer to reduce a lot of the bulge. However, some of the wood stuck to the bridge during removal and the wood left on the guitar is now uneven and has some chipping. Tips for measuring and drawing plans?

Hi dear luthiers, I want to build a copy of a vintage Gibson acoustic. Therefore I need to draw a good plan. Do you have good tips of how to measure the guitar, especially the interieur like braces or the back+side thickness? Do you have a certain schedule, that you follow? For the position of the braces I will use magnets. But the height, thickness and profile, how do you adress this? Thanks a lot in advance!

Sweeping a sketch

I am currently drawing up my bridge design in Fusion 360. It has been a lot of fun and has gone really well so far. But I am a little stuck on rounding over the belly. I could easily put a fillet on it. But I want a little more round over on one side than the other. So I made a sketch on a plane of the curve I want to have. And then I try to sweep it across the belly, and it works, but it stops just shy of both ends where I want it to s…

Actually tbh I don't know how you could do a longer path on that bridge profile. Project include would just do what you already had.
