About a year ago I had the idea of making little extension feet for those little Irwin Mini Quick Grip Clamps - also widely known as trigger clamps. They're handy for all sorts of small jobs and in many ways have supplanted spool clamps for many jobs. I particularly like them for gluing binding and inlays, however they always seem to get glued to whatever surface you are trying to clamp - especially of using CA.
I fashioned the original feet from shaping some small pieces of plastic and then chiseling out a channel in some small trigger clamps and gluing them into the feet - the extra clearance allowed you to clamp you binding, inlays or anything else, see what you were doing and have just enough room to clean up the squeeze out with a Q-Tip without gluing your clamp to your workpiece
They worked great but were a pain to make. At the time I mused that someone who knew how to draw in 3D could come up with a version.
Well - after a very generous introductory Fusion lesson with Max Monterosso during his shop visit, some friendly coaching from Andy Charles and James Roadman and then ultimately, ongoing one-on-one lessons with my dear friend David Trustman, I am beginning to see the world in 3D.
So here is my inaugural contribution to Looth-Prints.
The feet are designed to slip over the feet of the Blue "Mini" Irwin Quick Grip Clamps. For the older Yellow or Black Irwin - you would need to print these at a 95% or 90% ratio in your slicer.
