Throughout any lifetime, an individual will move through different developmental stages. These stages have been the topic of research and discussion during the entirety of the existence of the field of psychology. As a result, we now have a wealth of knowledge about how these various stages impact and are impacted by our life experiences, our psychological and emotional growth and our relationships. You have probably already known or thought about this in some form, whether or not you were aware of it. This article is aimed at helping luthiers and guitar repair professionals better understand what developmental psychology has to say about the guitar repair business that you operate.
Every entity has developmental stages. People, ideas, buildings, businesses, and of course guitars. In this article I am going to focus on human lifespan development and as I do so I want you to think about your business and its lifespan development. At the end of the article I’ll synthesize both.
