tl;dw - switch to Outer Walls first, then inner walls. In orca/bambu studio, the video says to do inner/outer/inner. It also mentions the travel distance threshold in Retraction settings - setting it to 1 or 2mm; I didn't quite understand what that accomplishes.

I have access to a nova thunderlaser 5-something and I saw a video of somebody cutting out a fret board as well as the fret slots, as well as an entire neck out of a blank with a laser cutter, and I’m wondering if this is a reasonable thing to do and if anybody has experience with the kind of shrinkage that would probably happen with such a deep cut in the neck blank. Any insight at all is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hey Everyone! I got a text message from someone today asking about a crack in their 2019 Collings. They sent this video showing the crack. I am confident in my abilities to glue it back well but was curious as to how everyone else would go about repairing the finish. Hoping to get an idea before I even accept it. Thanks!

So I think this pickup was wired wrong but wanted to see if anyone was familiar with people maybe doing this kind of thing intentionally. Hi! This is a new build but suddenly it's also a finish repair. I tested Ken Parker's Epoxy + Tru-Oil approach on the fretboard of this ukulele before committing to the rest of the instrument. Hey guys, I’ve got a crumbling binding issue on a 1977 Gibson F5 mandolin. After viewing the liquid binding repair video from Doug, I ordered the appropriate(I think?) chemicals to mix with my Gluboost Master Glu and attempt the repair. After watching Jeff Jewitt's Touch Up for Builders video, I began looking for a source with a selection of pigments like he has.
