3D Printing Help
Hey Everyone! I have finally gotten jealous enough of everyones 3d printing antics and want to get in on it. Does anyone have a suggestion for starter setup. I have saved around $500. Should I hold off and save more? I do not have any big goals but would like to copy some of the looth prints. Thanks!
Sub $400 3d printer
I had a Flashforge Adventurer 5m pro and liked it but it suddenly stopped connecting to WiFi. Customer support was super frustrating and I returned it. But i did like it when it worked, aside from wishing it had a larger print bed. Any recommendations on what I should look at in the <$400 range? I’ve been reading and googling but have yet to find any advice that seems to hit the spot. Thank you!

Printed Vacuum Puck
Found this, will print later, saves a little design time. https://makerworld.com/models/1835300?appSharePlatform=copy Having made 3D printed Vacuum fixtures for CNC previously, I’d recommend printing as close to 100% theoretical density as possible, as any voids can and likely will lead to suction loss. Finer dimensional stability and layer adhesion with something with Glass Fibres will probably help. I’d avoid materials with additives th…

Cutting Fret Slots
I cut the fret slots for a baritone guitar build today, so I thought I'd share my method for cutting fret slots, as I think it is a bit unusual. I radius and profile my fretboard before I cut the slots. I print out a paper layout of the fretboard, double-stick tape it to the radiused and profiled fretboard, line up the saw by eye to using red hatch marks on the printout, and saw the fret slots with a 3" circular saw that rides on…
GoBar deck adjustment
Hi folks, I thought you might be interested in this approach to having easy height adjustment for a GoBar deck. I learned this tip from my buddy, Don Parker. He lurks around here too from time to time. :) The basic idea is rather than having a booster platform on the base for use when gluing braces to plates you bring the roof down lower. There is a 3D printed spacer in black in the pics. I linked to a downloadable STL and 3MF of…
