Help needed identifying real PAF

Hello estimable friends, A very long-term friend of mine left us on Christmas Eve after a long illness. His sister tasked me with evaluating, restoring, and selling his stuff. Today I'm preparing to restore a 2008 Longhorn GOM to its original EMGs. Pulling out the humbuckers I see a Pearly Gates and… what looks like an original short-magnet PAF. Lindy Fralin quickly pointed to me that the pickup looks authentic all right, but the magnet is non-original. Having a second look at it myself, I realized very fast that it has been changed as it is…

Other than Reverb, does anyone k ow of a set or where else these may be found? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Owner wants to try to at least be period correct and as close to original as he can.

Troubleshooting Intermittent Pickup Output Drop

Hi. I recently got a strat where the middle pickup cuts out intermittently. I cleaned and, using a multimeter, tested all the components. As far as I can tell the pickup itself has an internal break somewhere. After testing the components I wired the middle pickup directly to an output jack. Tapping the top of the pickup caused the output to toggle on and off. I also re-soldered the leads at the pickup eyelets but that didn't resolve the…

Ran into a similar issue recently with a dimarzio humbucker where it was going dead every now and then. The issue was a broken wire somewhere in the winds, it only worked when the pickup was in a spec…
